Lesson27 Learning To Understand Art
Last week I went to an exhibition of paintings at the Tate Gallery in London． I'm not really a great art lover but I'd read some good reviews of theexhibition so I was keen to see it．I must be honest and admit that many the paintings disappointed me．AlthoughI spent a lot of time looking carefully at each one，I had some difficultyin understanding what the artist was getting at． As I was looking withgreat effort at one of the paintings and trying to figure out if it was theright way up or not， an old gentleman came behind and started to explainthe whole painting to me． He kindly answered all of my questions and wetalked for over an hour． Then he said he had an appointment and had to go，so we shook hands and said goodbye． I went round the gallery once more andnow I found that all the paintings seemed really beautiful．As I was leaving the gallery I found out who the old man was his self|portrait was on the posters advertising the exhibition!

当我筹备离开美术馆的时候我才了解那个老人是哪个。他的自画像出目前该次展览的宣传海报上.
